Who it suits
- Flats and bungalows on storage heaters
- Homes on Economy 7 tariffs
- Rental properties improving EPC ratings
- Rooms with panel heaters or electric fires
What happens to the old heaters?
We disconnect them, arrange safe removal and recycling, and leave the supplies safe for your electrician to terminate or reuse. Older storage heaters can be very heavy and some contain hazardous insulation, so they are removed carefully.
What about hot water?
An air-to-air heat pump heats rooms, not water. Most homes with storage heaters already have an electric immersion cylinder, which stays as it is. We can point you to options for upgrading that separately.

Storage and electric heater replacement prices
Guide prices for storage and electric heater replacement run from £3,450 to £10,450 for 3–5 rooms, before any grant, including VAT, depending on the options below. Removing storage or panel heaters and fitting an air-to-air system in their place. The survey turns this into a fixed written price.
Small flat
Two or three rooms replacing storage heaters.
Bungalow or house
Four rooms on one outdoor unit.
Larger home
Five or more rooms or two outdoor units.
Prices are shown before any Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant. The £2,500 air-to-air grant applies only to eligible homes in England and Wales, using an MCS-certified heat pump installed by an MCS-certified installer, who applies for the grant and deducts it from the price. We confirm eligibility, and which installer applies, before you commit.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
UK middle prices. London and the South East are typically higher and much of the North, Scotland and Wales a little lower; see your area page for a local figure.
