About these terms
This website is provided by Aircon Installers, a trading name of S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd, company number 16932889, registered office Unit 1 Hembs Crescent, Great Barr, Birmingham B43 5DG. These terms cover use of the website and the basis on which we quote. Your written quote and contract set out the full terms for any work.
Guide prices
Prices on this website, including the guide price tool, are estimates including VAT at 20%, based on typical installations. They are not offers. A fixed price is given in writing after a survey. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them; if your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Surveys, visits and quotes
Surveys and written quotes for new installations on the UK mainland are free and you are under no obligation. On islands not joined by a bridge and in remote parts of the Highlands and Argyll, surveys are by arrangement, and any travel, ferry or accommodation cost is quoted to you in writing as a fixed amount before you book. Service, repair, cleaning and controls visits are charged at a price agreed with you before the visit. Quotes are valid for 30 days unless they say otherwise and are based on what we could see at survey. If hidden conditions change the work, we explain and agree any change with you in writing before carrying it out.
Who does the work
Unless your quote says otherwise, your contract is with S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd. Work on the refrigerant circuit is carried out by F-gas certified engineers, and your quote names who will do the work and the F-gas company certificate that covers it.
Boiler Upgrade Scheme grants can only be claimed by an MCS-certified installer, which deducts the grant from its own quoted price. If your job uses the grant, your quote names that installer, which contracts with you for the installation and applies for the grant, and the consumer code it belongs to.
Payment
Payment stages are set out in your quote. Our standard terms for installations are a 50% deposit on acceptance, 40% on the first day of installation and the 10% balance on satisfactory completion. For Boiler Upgrade Scheme jobs, deposits and payment stages follow the installer's consumer code. Visits are paid on completion of the visit. Home service plans are paid yearly; the plan terms, including how renewal works and how to cancel, are given to you in writing before you join, and we remind you before each renewal.
Your right to cancel
If you are a consumer and agree a contract with us at your home or at a distance (online, by phone or by email), you can cancel without giving a reason. For work that includes supplying equipment, you have 14 days from the day the equipment is delivered to your home. For service-only work, such as servicing, repairs or cleaning, you have 14 days from the day the contract is made. To cancel, tell us clearly by email to info@aircon-installers.co.uk, by post to our registered office, or using the model form below. If you cancel, we refund any payment within 14 days of being told.
We will not start work within the cancellation period unless you ask us to in writing (email is fine). If you ask us to start and then cancel within the period, you must pay a proportionate amount for the work done up to the point you told us you were cancelling. If you cancel after equipment has been installed, we arrange to collect it. If a service-only job is completed within the period at your request, and you acknowledged in writing beforehand that you would then lose the right to cancel, you can no longer cancel it. These rules come from the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
Model cancellation form (complete and return only if you wish to cancel): To S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd, Unit 1 Hembs Crescent, Great Barr, Birmingham B43 5DG, info@aircon-installers.co.uk. Permissions and access
We advise on planning requirements and check permitted development conditions with you. You are responsible for obtaining consent from any landlord, freeholder or management company, any listed building consent, and for safe access to the work areas. We do not start work that needs listed building consent until it has been granted.
Equipment warranties
Equipment is covered by the manufacturer's warranty on the terms stated by the manufacturer, which may require registration and annual servicing. We explain the terms for your equipment in your quote. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected.
Website content
We aim to keep information accurate and up to date, but rules and prices change. Guides are general information, not professional advice for your specific circumstances. Photographs and video on this website are computer-generated and show typical installations, not specific completed jobs.
Complaints
If something goes wrong, contact us at info@aircon-installers.co.uk or by post to our registered office, with your name, address and what has happened. We acknowledge complaints within 5 working days and aim to give you a full response within 28 days. If we cannot resolve your complaint, we will tell you in writing which alternative dispute resolution provider could consider it and whether we agree to use it. This does not affect your right to go to court.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts, and nothing here removes protections you have under local consumer law.
