Repairs and replacement

Air conditioning repairs

Air conditioning repair starts with diagnosis: reading fault codes, checking power, sensors, fans, drains and refrigerant pressures to find the actual cause rather than swapping parts. Most faults fall into a few groups: electrical and control faults, drainage problems, fan faults and refrigerant leaks.

Who it suits

  • Units leaking water
  • Systems not cooling or heating
  • Fault codes and flashing lights
  • Noisy or tripping units

Common faults we fix

Water dripping from the indoor unit (blocked drain or failed pump), units that run but do not cool (dirty coils, low refrigerant, faulty sensor), flashing fault codes, noisy fans, units that will not start, and outdoor units tripping the electrics.

Repair or replace?

If the system is under ten years old and the fault is a sensor, board, fan or leak, repair is usually worthwhile. Old R22 systems cannot legally be topped up with any R22, so a major leak often means replacement. We give you both prices when it is close.

FAQ

Air conditioning repairs: your questions

Why is water dripping from my indoor unit?

Usually a blocked drain line or a failed condensate pump. It is a quick repair, but switch the unit off to avoid damage.

Why is my air conditioner blowing warm air?

Common causes are a blocked filter, dirty coils, the unit in the wrong mode, a faulty sensor, or low refrigerant from a leak.

Do you repair all brands?

We repair most mainstream brands. Parts for very old or obscure models can be hard to get, which we tell you up front.
