What happens at first fix?
We set out indoor unit positions with you or your builder, run insulated copper pairs, condensate drains and interconnecting cables to each position, pressure test the pipework with nitrogen and leave it capped and labelled. Your electrician provides the supply to our agreed point.
What happens at second fix?
After plastering and decorating we fit the indoor and outdoor units, connect, pressure test again, vacuum and commission. Leaving the units until the end keeps dust out of them.
What is included
- Design and setting-out with your builder
- First-fix pipework, drains and cables
- Nitrogen pressure test and labelled tails
- Second-fix unit installation
- Vacuum, charge and commissioning
- Commissioning records for building control files

First and second fix
Complete install priced per room including units.
Ducted design and build
Concealed ducted system designed into the build.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
UK middle prices. London and the South East are typically higher and much of the North, Scotland and Wales a little lower; see your area page for a local figure.
