New build and renovation air conditioning across Gwynedd
For new Bangor extensions with flat roofs, the outdoor unit position is best agreed against the architect's drawings. Renovations in Bangor are the easiest jobs to make invisible, because the pipework goes in before the plaster. Exposed coastal sites in North Wales call for outdoor units placed out of the wind and salt spray where possible.
Prices in Gwynedd
Air conditioning for new builds and renovations in Gwynedd typically comes in at £370–£845 per indoor position (first fix) including VAT, based on North Wales rates. That sits a little below the UK middle, reflecting typical North Wales labour rates. What moves a quote in Gwynedd up or down is mostly pipe length, how high the outdoor unit goes, and whether a new electrical circuit is needed. For reference, the First and second fix option in Gwynedd (complete install priced per room including units) usually comes to about £1,345–£2,745.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Working with your builder
Because the pipework is built into the structure, coordination with your builder matters more than planning here; the outdoor unit follows the same rules as any other installation.
The survey
On a survey in Gwynedd the engineer looks at room size, glazing, the route for pipes and drains, the electrics and where the outdoor unit can sit quietly, then the written quote follows. We book surveys in Gwynedd at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards.
