Who it suits
- Garage gyms
- Cinema and media rooms
- Gaming and streaming rooms
- Basement conversions
How do you size for a gym?
Each person exercising can give off several hundred watts of heat, and treadmills and bikes add more. We size for the number of people likely to train at once and the equipment, not just the floor area, so the room does not overheat mid-session.
What about garages and basements?
Garages often have thin walls, metal doors and their own electrical supply, so we check insulation and the consumer unit first. Basements need a route for the refrigerant pipes and a way to drain condensate, which may mean a small condensate pump.
Will the unit be heard in a media room?
Indoor units on low fan are quiet, and we place the unit away from the screen and seating so airflow does not blow across viewers.

Home gym and media room air conditioning prices
Guide prices for home gym and media room air conditioning run from £1,350 to £3,350 per room, including VAT, depending on the options below. Unit sized for people and equipment heat; garages may need a new supply. The survey turns this into a fixed written price.
Spare room
2.5–3.5 kW unit for a small gym or games room.
Garage gym
3.5–5 kW unit with supply check and pump if needed.
Large space
5–7 kW unit or two units for a big gym or cinema room.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
UK middle prices. London and the South East are typically higher and much of the North, Scotland and Wales a little lower; see your area page for a local figure.
