Floor console air conditioning in Sutton
London's dense streets hold heat overnight, so top-floor flats and loft rooms often stay warm long after sunset. Where a room in Sutton has deep cornicing or a picture rail, a console keeps the walls above it clear.
If your home in Sutton is bay-fronted or period, a console often suits it better than a high wall unit. Sutton lies roughly 11 miles from central London, and we cover it as part of London. Homes in RH5, SM1 and SM2 are all within our coverage.
Prices in Sutton
In London, our guide range for floor console air conditioning is £1,795–£3,895 per room, including VAT. Prices here sit above the national middle, reflecting London labour rates and parking and access costs. Quotes move with the length of the pipe run, where the outdoor unit can sit and how much electrical work the job needs. On our London figures, the Popular option (quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room) is about £2,295–£3,095.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
For most houses in Sutton, the outdoor unit is permitted development if it passes the MCS 020(a) noise check (37 dB(A) or less at the nearest neighbouring window) and stays within the size and number limits. We run that check on survey.
The survey
Surveys in Sutton cover heat gain, pipe routes, electrics, access and noise to the nearest neighbour, so surprises on the day are rare. At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote.
