Floor console air conditioning in Morden
Where a house in Morden has a bay window, a console can sit where the radiator was. The urban heat island effect means London bedrooms can stay uncomfortably warm on summer nights.
If your home in Morden is bay-fronted or period, a console often suits it better than a high wall unit. Morden lies roughly 8 miles from central London, and we cover it as part of London. That includes the SM4 postcode district.
Prices in Morden
Our London guide price for floor console air conditioning is £1,795–£3,895 per room, VAT included. That is above the UK middle, mainly because labour and access cost more in London. The biggest variables are the pipe route, access for the outdoor unit and the state of the consumer unit, all of which the survey settles. For reference, the Popular option in Morden (quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room) usually comes to about £2,295–£3,095.
Essential
Standard console for a bedroom or study.
Popular
Quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room.
Premium
Larger capacity or concealed pipework through the floor void.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
England's rules let most houses fit an outdoor unit without a planning application, as long as the size, number and MCS 020(a) noise conditions are met. Flats, listed buildings and roof-mounted units are treated differently.
The survey
On a survey in Morden the engineer looks at room size, glazing, the route for pipes and drains, the electrics and where the outdoor unit can sit quietly, then the written quote follows. We book surveys in Morden at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards.
