Floor console air conditioning in Carshalton
If your home in Carshalton is bay-fronted or period, a console often suits it better than a high wall unit. The urban heat island effect means London bedrooms can stay uncomfortably warm on summer nights.
Where a room in Carshalton has deep cornicing or a picture rail, a console keeps the walls above it clear. We cover Carshalton as part of London, roughly 9 miles from central London. Postcode districts we cover here include SM5.
Prices in Carshalton
In London, our guide range for floor console air conditioning is £1,795–£3,895 per room, including VAT. London is one of the dearer parts of the UK for trades, which shows in the range. The biggest variables are the pipe route, access for the outdoor unit and the state of the consumer unit, all of which the survey settles. As an example, the Popular option (quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room) would typically be £2,295–£3,095 here.
Essential
Standard console for a bedroom or study.
Popular
Quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room.
Premium
Larger capacity or concealed pipework through the floor void.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
For most houses in Carshalton, the outdoor unit is permitted development if it passes the MCS 020(a) noise check (37 dB(A) or less at the nearest neighbouring window) and stays within the size and number limits. We run that check on survey.
The survey
We book surveys in Carshalton at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards. At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote.
