Floor console air conditioning in South Croydon
In London, heat soaks into brick and concrete during the day and comes back out at night, which is when it is hardest to sleep. If your home in South Croydon is bay-fronted or period, a console often suits it better than a high wall unit.
Where a house in South Croydon has a bay window, a console can sit where the radiator was. South Croydon is about 10 miles from central London and falls within our London coverage. We cover CR7 and CR9 and the streets around them.
Prices in South Croydon
For South Croydon, expect roughly £1,795 to £3,895 per room, VAT included, adjusted for typical London rates. London is one of the dearer parts of the UK for trades, which shows in the range. What moves a quote in South Croydon up or down is mostly pipe length, how high the outdoor unit goes, and whether a new electrical circuit is needed. For reference, the Popular option in South Croydon (quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room) usually comes to about £2,295–£3,095.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
England's rules let most houses fit an outdoor unit without a planning application, as long as the size, number and MCS 020(a) noise conditions are met. Flats, listed buildings and roof-mounted units are treated differently.
The survey
We book surveys in South Croydon at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards. Surveys in South Croydon cover heat gain, pipe routes, electrics, access and noise to the nearest neighbour, so surprises on the day are rare.
