Floor console air conditioning in Battersea
If your home in Battersea is bay-fronted or period, a console often suits it better than a high wall unit. The urban heat island effect means London bedrooms can stay uncomfortably warm on summer nights.
Where a house in Battersea has a bay window, a console can sit where the radiator was. Battersea is about 2 miles from central London and falls within our London coverage. Homes in SW11 are all within our coverage.
Prices in Battersea
For Battersea, expect roughly £1,795 to £3,895 per room, VAT included, adjusted for typical London rates. That is above the UK middle, mainly because labour and access cost more in London. The biggest variables are the pipe route, access for the outdoor unit and the state of the consumer unit, all of which the survey settles. Typical Popular work (quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room) lands around £2,295–£3,095 in this area.
Essential
Standard console for a bedroom or study.
Popular
Quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room.
Premium

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
In England, most houses can have an outdoor unit under permitted development if it is no larger than 1.5 m³, meets the MCS 020(a) noise limit of 37 dB(A) at the nearest neighbour's window, and there are no more than two on a detached house or one on other houses. Listed buildings need consent.
The survey
At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote. On a survey in Battersea the engineer looks at room size, glazing, the route for pipes and drains, the electrics and where the outdoor unit can sit quietly, then the written quote follows.
