Floor console air conditioning in Putney
Where a house in Putney has a bay window, a console can sit where the radiator was. Many London homes are flats or tall terraces, where heat rises to the top floor and the bedrooms bear the brunt of a hot spell.
If your home in Putney is bay-fronted or period, a console often suits it better than a high wall unit. Putney sits around 5 miles from central London, inside our London area. Coverage includes SW15.
Prices in Putney
For Putney, expect roughly £1,795 to £3,895 per room, VAT included, adjusted for typical London rates. London is one of the dearer parts of the UK for trades, which shows in the range. What moves a quote in Putney up or down is mostly pipe length, how high the outdoor unit goes, and whether a new electrical circuit is needed. As an example, the Popular option (quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room) would typically be £2,295–£3,095 here.
Essential
Standard console for a bedroom or study.
Popular
Quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
England's rules let most houses fit an outdoor unit without a planning application, as long as the size, number and MCS 020(a) noise conditions are met. Flats, listed buildings and roof-mounted units are treated differently.
The survey
A survey in Putney usually takes one to two hours. We measure the rooms, check the walls and the consumer unit, agree the outdoor unit position with you and photograph the pipe routes. We book surveys in Putney at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards.
