Floor console air conditioning in Colwyn Bay
Where a house in Colwyn Bay has a bay window, a console can sit where the radiator was. In North Wales, an air-to-air system can be an efficient way to heat holiday homes and bungalows, with cooling as a bonus.
If your home in Colwyn Bay is bay-fronted or period, a console often suits it better than a high wall unit. Colwyn Bay is about 35 miles from Wrexham and falls within our Clwyd coverage. Postcode districts we cover here include LL29.

Planning and permissions
Since 1 June 2026, Welsh permitted development rules for outdoor units closely match England's: up to 1.5 m³, two units on a detached home, one on other homes, and MCS 020a noise compliance. Listed buildings need consent, and conservation areas have extra restrictions on units facing a road.
The survey
On a survey in Colwyn Bay the engineer looks at room size, glazing, the route for pipes and drains, the electrics and where the outdoor unit can sit quietly, then the written quote follows. A survey in Colwyn Bay usually takes one to two hours. We measure the rooms, check the walls and the consumer unit, agree the outdoor unit position with you and photograph the pipe routes.
