Home air conditioning in Merthyr Tydfil
In South and Mid Wales, efficient heating is often as important as cooling. Our Mid Glamorgan coverage takes in Merthyr Tydfil, about 19 miles from Bridgend. We cover CF47 and the streets around them.
Rooms and systems
A yearly service plan saves Merthyr Tydfil households from having to remember when the system was last looked at. Twin and triple systems suit Merthyr Tydfil homes where bedrooms sit above the kitchen and one rear wall can take the outdoor unit. Garden offices used every day in Merthyr Tydfil need cooling in summer and efficient heat in winter. If your Merthyr Tydfil home is listed or in a conservation area, consent comes first and we provide what the council needs to see.
For a single hot bedroom or living room, a wall-mounted split is usually the simplest answer. Two to four rooms often suit a multi-split on one outdoor unit, while a ducted system hides everything except the grilles. Design-led units, slim floor consoles and concealed ducted systems are all options where a standard white wall unit would look out of place.

On our South and Mid Wales figures, a multi-split is typically £2,245–£7,145 for 2–4 rooms, air conditioning in a flat £1,245–£5,445 per flat, and a wall-mounted system £1,045–£2,695 per room, all including VAT. Installations are fixed in writing after a free survey; visits are priced before we come.
Planning and permissions
In Wales, outdoor units of up to 1.5 m³ that meet MCS 020a noise limits are usually permitted development on houses; listed buildings need consent, and in conservation areas a unit cannot go on a wall or roof facing a road. For flats in Merthyr Tydfil, the lease and the freeholder's consent come first. Planning rules for blocks of flats are stricter than for houses, and we check them before quoting.
If your home in Merthyr Tydfil is replacing fossil fuel or electric heating, and no gas, oil or LPG boiler stays in use, an MCS-certified air-to-air heat pump may qualify for the £2,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant, which the MCS-certified installer claims and deducts from the price.
