Home air conditioning in Accrington
In the North West, heating efficiency is often the main benefit, with summer cooling a welcome bonus. Accrington is about 14 miles from Preston and falls within our Lancashire coverage. We cover BB5 and the streets around them.
Rooms and systems
For a home cinema in Accrington, we place the indoor unit so airflow stays away from the screen and seating. We check the armoured supply cable on every Accrington garden room before quoting. For period homes in Accrington, we look at consoles in place of radiators and ducted units from the loft before anything else. Smart control is a simple upgrade for Accrington homes with a working system but no app.
Existing systems need care too: an annual service, an occasional deep clean and prompt repairs keep them efficient and quiet. For a single hot bedroom or living room, a wall-mounted split is usually the simplest answer. Two to four rooms often suit a multi-split on one outdoor unit, while a ducted system hides everything except the grilles.
Guide prices in Accrington
As a guide, homes in Accrington can expect £2,795–£10,895 for 2–5 rooms for an air-to-air heat pump system, £1,395–£2,995 per system for a garden room system and £140–£235 per indoor unit for a deep clean, VAT included. Installations are fixed in writing after a free survey; visits are priced before we come.
Planning and permissions
Since 29 May 2025, England's permitted development rules allow larger outdoor units (up to 1.5 m³) and no longer require a 1 m gap to the boundary, provided the MCS 020(a) noise check is met. Listed buildings and pitched-roof installs still need permission. For flats in Accrington, the lease and the freeholder's consent come first. Planning rules for blocks of flats are stricter than for houses, and we check them before quoting.
If your home in Accrington is replacing fossil fuel or electric heating, and no gas, oil or LPG boiler stays in use, an MCS-certified air-to-air heat pump may qualify for the £2,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant, which the MCS-certified installer claims and deducts from the price.
