Wall-mounted air conditioning in Carmarthen
In South and Mid Wales, efficient heating is often as important as cooling. A single wall-mounted unit is often all a bedroom or sunny living room in Carmarthen needs.
In a semi or terrace in Carmarthen, the indoor unit often goes on a back bedroom wall with the outdoor unit on a bracket below. We cover Carmarthen and the rest of Dyfed, including Llanelli and Ammanford. Postcode districts we cover here include SA31.
Prices in Carmarthen
Our South and Mid Wales guide price for wall-mounted air conditioning is £1,045–£2,695 per room, VAT included. Labour rates in South and Mid Wales keep this slightly under the national middle. The biggest variables are the pipe route, access for the outdoor unit and the state of the consumer unit, all of which the survey settles. Typical Popular work (quieter mid-range unit with Wi-Fi control and better seasonal efficiency for a living room) lands around £1,445–£1,995 in this area.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
In Wales, outdoor units of up to 1.5 m³ that meet MCS 020a noise limits are usually permitted development on houses; listed buildings need consent, and in conservation areas a unit cannot go on a wall or roof facing a road.
The survey
At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote. A survey in Carmarthen usually takes one to two hours. We measure the rooms, check the walls and the consumer unit, agree the outdoor unit position with you and photograph the pipe routes.
