Wall-mounted air conditioning in Tenby
Where a home in Tenby faces the street, the outdoor unit usually goes at the rear, out of sight. South Wales summers can be warm and humid, and winters damp, so a reversible system earns its keep all year.
In a semi or terrace in Tenby, the indoor unit often goes on a back bedroom wall with the outdoor unit on a bracket below. Tenby is about 21 miles from Carmarthen and falls within our Dyfed coverage. Postcode districts we cover here include SA70.
Prices in Tenby
Our South and Mid Wales guide price for wall-mounted air conditioning is £1,045–£2,695 per room, VAT included. It is a touch below the UK middle, as trade rates in South and Mid Wales tend to be. Quotes move with the length of the pipe run, where the outdoor unit can sit and how much electrical work the job needs. For reference, the Popular option in Tenby (quieter mid-range unit with Wi-Fi control and better seasonal efficiency for a living room) usually comes to about £1,445–£1,995.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
Wales removed its old 3 m boundary rule on 1 June 2026, so most houses in Tenby can now have an outdoor unit under permitted development if it meets the MCS 020a noise condition. Listed buildings still need consent, and conservation areas have extra restrictions.
