Air conditioning replacement and removal in Ewell
Units over fifteen years old in Ewell homes are worth replacing before they fail completely. The South East sees some of the UK's warmest summer days, and south-facing rooms and conservatories feel it first.
During building work in Ewell, units can be recovered and removed so the job can go ahead safely. Ewell sits around 14 miles from Woking, inside our Surrey area. We cover KT17 and the streets around them.
Prices in Ewell
In South East England, our guide range for air conditioning replacement and removal is £240–£595 to remove and recover one system, including VAT. South East England is one of the dearer parts of the UK for trades, which shows in the range. The biggest variables are the pipe route, access for the outdoor unit and the state of the consumer unit, all of which the survey settles. As an example, the Like-for-like option (replace one system using sound existing routes) would typically be £1,395–£2,745 here.

Planning and permissions
Since 29 May 2025, England's permitted development rules allow larger outdoor units (up to 1.5 m³) and no longer require a 1 m gap to the boundary, provided the MCS 020(a) noise check is met. Listed buildings and pitched-roof installs still need permission.
The survey
A survey in Ewell usually takes one to two hours. We measure the rooms, check the walls and the consumer unit, agree the outdoor unit position with you and photograph the pipe routes. Surveys in Ewell cover heat gain, pipe routes, electrics, access and noise to the nearest neighbour, so surprises on the day are rare.
