Air conditioning replacement and removal across Hampshire
During building work in Southampton, units can be recovered and removed so the job can go ahead safely. Units over fifteen years old in Southampton homes are worth replacing before they fail completely. The South East sees some of the UK's warmest summer days, and south-facing rooms and conservatories feel it first.
Prices in Hampshire
For Hampshire, expect roughly £240 to £595 to remove and recover one system, VAT included, adjusted for typical South East England rates. Prices here sit above the national middle, reflecting South East England labour rates and parking and access costs. The biggest variables are the pipe route, access for the outdoor unit and the state of the consumer unit, all of which the survey settles. For reference, the Like-for-like option in Hampshire (replace one system using sound existing routes) usually comes to about £1,395–£2,745.

Planning and permissions
In England, most houses can have an outdoor unit under permitted development if it is no larger than 1.5 m³, meets the MCS 020(a) noise limit of 37 dB(A) at the nearest neighbour's window, and there are no more than two on a detached house or one on other houses. Listed buildings need consent.
The survey
The free survey is where the real price is set: room measurements, pipe and drain routes, electrical checks and the outdoor unit position, all written into your quote. At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote.
