Floor console air conditioning in Shepherds Bush

Floor console air conditioning in Shepherds Bush

Where a house in Shepherds Bush has a bay window, a console can sit where the radiator was. London's dense streets hold heat overnight, so top-floor flats and loft rooms often stay warm long after sunset.

If your home in Shepherds Bush is bay-fronted or period, a console often suits it better than a high wall unit. Shepherds Bush sits around 4 miles from central London, inside our London area. Postcode districts we cover here include W12.

Prices in Shepherds Bush

Budget around £1,795–£3,895 per room including VAT for floor console air conditioning in and around Shepherds Bush. Prices here sit above the national middle, reflecting London labour rates and parking and access costs. What moves a quote in Shepherds Bush up or down is mostly pipe length, how high the outdoor unit goes, and whether a new electrical circuit is needed. As an example, the Popular option (quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room) would typically be £2,295–£3,095 here.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.

Planning and permissions

For most houses in Shepherds Bush, the outdoor unit is permitted development if it passes the MCS 020(a) noise check (37 dB(A) or less at the nearest neighbouring window) and stays within the size and number limits. We run that check on survey.

The survey

The free survey is where the real price is set: room measurements, pipe and drain routes, electrical checks and the outdoor unit position, all written into your quote. A survey in Shepherds Bush usually takes one to two hours. We measure the rooms, check the walls and the consumer unit, agree the outdoor unit position with you and photograph the pipe routes.
