Floor console air conditioning in Fleet
Where a room in Fleet has deep cornicing or a picture rail, a console keeps the walls above it clear. In the South East, loft rooms and glazed extensions can climb well above the outside temperature on a sunny afternoon.
If your home in Fleet is bay-fronted or period, a console often suits it better than a high wall unit. Fleet is about 36 miles from Southampton and falls within our Hampshire coverage. Coverage includes GU13, GU51 and GU52.
Prices in Fleet
Guide prices around Fleet run from £1,645 to £3,595 per room including VAT. South East England is one of the dearer parts of the UK for trades, which shows in the range. Longer or hidden pipe runs, high-level brackets and electrical upgrades are the usual reasons a quote lands at the top of the range. On our South East England figures, the Popular option (quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room) is about £2,145–£2,845.
Essential
Standard console for a bedroom or study.
Popular
Quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room.
Premium
Larger capacity or concealed pipework through the floor void.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
In England, most houses can have an outdoor unit under permitted development if it is no larger than 1.5 m³, meets the MCS 020(a) noise limit of 37 dB(A) at the nearest neighbour's window, and there are no more than two on a detached house or one on other houses. Listed buildings need consent.
The survey
The free survey is where the real price is set: room measurements, pipe and drain routes, electrical checks and the outdoor unit position, all written into your quote. At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote.
