Floor console air conditioning in Farnham
If your home in Farnham is bay-fronted or period, a console often suits it better than a high wall unit. Hot spells reach the South East early, which makes spring the easiest time to arrange an installation.
Where a room in Farnham has deep cornicing or a picture rail, a console keeps the walls above it clear. Our Surrey coverage takes in Farnham, about 13 miles from Woking. We cover GU9 and the streets around them.
Prices in Farnham
Guide prices around Farnham run from £1,645 to £3,595 per room including VAT. That is above the UK middle, mainly because labour and access cost more in South East England. Quotes move with the length of the pipe run, where the outdoor unit can sit and how much electrical work the job needs. For reference, the Popular option in Farnham (quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room) usually comes to about £2,145–£2,845.

HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
In England, most houses can have an outdoor unit under permitted development if it is no larger than 1.5 m³, meets the MCS 020(a) noise limit of 37 dB(A) at the nearest neighbour's window, and there are no more than two on a detached house or one on other houses. Listed buildings need consent.
The survey
The free survey is where the real price is set: room measurements, pipe and drain routes, electrical checks and the outdoor unit position, all written into your quote. On a survey in Farnham the engineer looks at room size, glazing, the route for pipes and drains, the electrics and where the outdoor unit can sit quietly, then the written quote follows.
