Floor console air conditioning in Stretford
Damp North West weather makes the dehumidifying mode of a modern split system genuinely useful for much of the year. If your home in Stretford is bay-fronted or period, a console often suits it better than a high wall unit.
Where a house in Stretford has a bay window, a console can sit where the radiator was. Stretford sits around 4 miles from Manchester, inside our Greater Manchester area. We cover M32 and the streets around them.
Prices in Stretford
Guide prices around Stretford run from £1,295 to £2,795 per room including VAT. That sits a little below the UK middle, reflecting typical North West England labour rates. Concealed pipework, access equipment for high walls and any electrical work are what push prices towards the upper figure. Typical Popular work (quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room) lands around £1,645–£2,245 in this area.
Essential

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
In England, most houses can have an outdoor unit under permitted development if it is no larger than 1.5 m³, meets the MCS 020(a) noise limit of 37 dB(A) at the nearest neighbour's window, and there are no more than two on a detached house or one on other houses. Listed buildings need consent.
The survey
At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote. We book surveys in Stretford at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards.
