Floor console air conditioning in Salford
Milder summers in the North West mean designing for winter comfort as much as for a heatwave. Where a house in Salford has a bay window, a console can sit where the radiator was.
If your home in Salford is bay-fronted or period, a console often suits it better than a high wall unit. We cover Salford as part of Greater Manchester, roughly 2 miles from Manchester. That includes the M5, M6 and M50 postcode districts.
Prices in Salford
Floor console air conditioning in Salford typically comes in at £1,295–£2,795 per room including VAT, based on North West England rates. That sits a little below the UK middle, reflecting typical North West England labour rates. Concealed pipework, access equipment for high walls and any electrical work are what push prices towards the upper figure. As an example, the Popular option (quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room) would typically be £1,645–£2,245 here.
Essential
Standard console for a bedroom or study.
Popular
Quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room.
Premium
Larger capacity or concealed pipework through the floor void.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
For most houses in Salford, the outdoor unit is permitted development if it passes the MCS 020(a) noise check (37 dB(A) or less at the nearest neighbouring window) and stays within the size and number limits. We run that check on survey.
The survey
The free survey is where the real price is set: room measurements, pipe and drain routes, electrical checks and the outdoor unit position, all written into your quote. A survey in Salford usually takes one to two hours. We measure the rooms, check the walls and the consumer unit, agree the outdoor unit position with you and photograph the pipe routes.
