Home gym and media room air conditioning in Bath
In the South West, a system that heats well through damp winters is often as valuable as summer cooling. Basement and garage rooms in Bath usually need a quick check of the supply and the drainage route before quoting.
For a home cinema in Bath, we place the indoor unit so airflow stays away from the screen and seating. Our Somerset coverage takes in Bath, about 41 miles from Taunton. That includes the BA1 postcode district.
Prices in Bath
For Bath, expect roughly £1,350 to £3,350 per room, VAT included, adjusted for typical South West England rates. That is broadly in line with national guide prices. Concealed pipework, access equipment for high walls and any electrical work are what push prices towards the upper figure. As an example, the Garage gym option (3.5–5 kW unit with supply check and pump if needed) would typically be £1,750–£2,450 here.
Spare room
2.5–3.5 kW unit for a small gym or games room.
Garage gym
3.5–5 kW unit with supply check and pump if needed.
Large space
5–7 kW unit or two units for a big gym or cinema room.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
England's rules let most houses fit an outdoor unit without a planning application, as long as the size, number and MCS 020(a) noise conditions are met. Flats, listed buildings and roof-mounted units are treated differently.
The survey
The free survey is where the real price is set: room measurements, pipe and drain routes, electrical checks and the outdoor unit position, all written into your quote. We book surveys in Bath at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards.
