Home gym and media room air conditioning in Cardigan
Wet South Wales winters make a heat pump's quiet, even heating and dehumidifying mode useful well beyond summer. Basement and garage rooms in Cardigan usually need a quick check of the supply and the drainage route before quoting.
Garage gyms and media rooms in Cardigan often face the same problem: thin walls and a lot of heat from people and equipment. Cardigan lies roughly 22 miles from Carmarthen, and we cover it as part of Dyfed. We cover SA43 and the streets around them.
Prices in Cardigan
Budget around £1,245–£3,095 per room including VAT for air conditioning for home gyms and media rooms in and around Cardigan. That sits a little below the UK middle, reflecting typical South and Mid Wales labour rates. Concealed pipework, access equipment for high walls and any electrical work are what push prices towards the upper figure. Typical Garage gym work (3.5–5 kW unit with supply check and pump if needed) lands around £1,595–£2,245 in this area.
Spare room
2.5–3.5 kW unit for a small gym or games room.
Garage gym

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
In Wales, outdoor units of up to 1.5 m³ that meet MCS 020a noise limits are usually permitted development on houses; listed buildings need consent, and in conservation areas a unit cannot go on a wall or roof facing a road.
The survey
Surveys in Cardigan cover heat gain, pipe routes, electrics, access and noise to the nearest neighbour, so surprises on the day are rare. At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote.
