Prices in Shanklin

In South East England, our guide range for garden room and home office air conditioning is £1,745–£3,845 per system, including VAT. Concealed pipework, access equipment for high walls and any electrical work are what push prices towards the upper figure. Typical Popular work (3.5 kW unit with Wi-Fi to warm up before you walk down the garden) lands around £2,195–£2,995 in this area. Travel, ferry or accommodation costs for Shanklin are not in these figures. They are quoted to you as a fixed amount in writing before you book.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.

Planning and permissions

England's rules let most houses fit an outdoor unit without a planning application, as long as the size, number and MCS 020(a) noise conditions are met. Flats, listed buildings and roof-mounted units are treated differently.

The survey

Where travel is involved, we agree the survey arrangements and any travel cost up front. On the day, the engineer measures the rooms, checks the electrics and agrees the outdoor unit position with you. Surveys in Shanklin are arranged around travel. We confirm the date and any travel, ferry or accommodation cost in writing before you commit, then the survey covers rooms, pipe routes, electrics and noise as normal.
