Floor console air conditioning in Bloxwich
If your home in Bloxwich is bay-fronted or period, a console often suits it better than a high wall unit. Hot spells in the West Midlands are shorter but intense, especially in loft rooms and rooms with big windows.
Where a room in Bloxwich has deep cornicing or a picture rail, a console keeps the walls above it clear. Bloxwich is about 10 miles from Birmingham and falls within our West Midlands coverage. Coverage includes WS3.
Prices in Bloxwich
In the West Midlands, our guide range for floor console air conditioning is £1,295–£2,895 per room, including VAT. That is broadly in line with national guide prices. Concealed pipework, access equipment for high walls and any electrical work are what push prices towards the upper figure. Typical Popular work (quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room) lands around £1,695–£2,295 in this area.
Essential

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
Since 29 May 2025, England's permitted development rules allow larger outdoor units (up to 1.5 m³) and no longer require a 1 m gap to the boundary, provided the MCS 020(a) noise check is met. Listed buildings and pitched-roof installs still need permission.
The survey
On a survey in Bloxwich the engineer looks at room size, glazing, the route for pipes and drains, the electrics and where the outdoor unit can sit quietly, then the written quote follows. We book surveys in Bloxwich at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards.
