Floor console air conditioning in Shrewsbury
If your home in Shrewsbury is bay-fronted or period, a console often suits it better than a high wall unit. Hot spells in the West Midlands are shorter but intense, especially in loft rooms and rooms with big windows.
Where a room in Shrewsbury has deep cornicing or a picture rail, a console keeps the walls above it clear. Shrewsbury sits around 13 miles from Telford, inside our Shropshire area. Homes in SY1 are all within our coverage.
Prices in Shrewsbury
Our West Midlands guide price for floor console air conditioning is £1,295–£2,895 per room, VAT included. That is close to the UK middle for this kind of work. Longer or hidden pipe runs, high-level brackets and electrical upgrades are the usual reasons a quote lands at the top of the range. As an example, the Popular option (quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room) would typically be £1,695–£2,295 here.
Essential
Standard console for a bedroom or study.
Popular
Quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room.
Premium
Larger capacity or concealed pipework through the floor void.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
England's rules let most houses fit an outdoor unit without a planning application, as long as the size, number and MCS 020(a) noise conditions are met. Flats, listed buildings and roof-mounted units are treated differently.
The survey
On a survey in Shrewsbury the engineer looks at room size, glazing, the route for pipes and drains, the electrics and where the outdoor unit can sit quietly, then the written quote follows. We book surveys in Shrewsbury at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards.
