Where a room in Lerwick has deep cornicing or a picture rail, a console keeps the walls above it clear. Lerwick sits within our Orkney, Shetland and the Western Isles area. Coverage includes ZE1.
Prices in Lerwick
Our Highlands, Islands and North East Scotland guide price for floor console air conditioning is £1,195–£2,645 per room, VAT included. The biggest variables are the pipe route, access for the outdoor unit and the state of the consumer unit, all of which the survey settles. For reference, the Popular option in Lerwick (quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room) usually comes to about £1,545–£2,095. These figures exclude travel to Lerwick. Any travel, ferry or accommodation cost is quoted separately, in writing, before anything is booked.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
Outdoor units on Scottish homes can often be installed without a planning application, but the conditions differ from England's, so we confirm the rules for your property at survey.
The survey
Surveys in Lerwick are arranged around travel. We confirm the date and any travel, ferry or accommodation cost in writing before you commit, then the survey covers rooms, pipe routes, electrics and noise as normal. In Lerwick we often start with photos, room measurements and the make of any existing system, so the survey visit is focused and any travel cost can be quoted in writing first.
