Floor console air conditioning in Islington
The urban heat island effect means London bedrooms can stay uncomfortably warm on summer nights. Where a room in Islington has deep cornicing or a picture rail, a console keeps the walls above it clear.
Where a house in Islington has a bay window, a console can sit where the radiator was. Islington is about 3 miles from central London and falls within our London coverage. Coverage includes EC1P, EC4P, N1, N1C, N1P and N7.
Prices in Islington
Budget around £1,795–£3,895 per room including VAT for floor console air conditioning in and around Islington. That is above the UK middle, mainly because labour and access cost more in London. Concealed pipework, access equipment for high walls and any electrical work are what push prices towards the upper figure. On our London figures, the Popular option (quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room) is about £2,295–£3,095.
Essential
Standard console for a bedroom or study.
Popular
Quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room.
Premium

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
Since 29 May 2025, England's permitted development rules allow larger outdoor units (up to 1.5 m³) and no longer require a 1 m gap to the boundary, provided the MCS 020(a) noise check is met. Listed buildings and pitched-roof installs still need permission.
The survey
At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote. The free survey is where the real price is set: room measurements, pipe and drain routes, electrical checks and the outdoor unit position, all written into your quote.
