Floor console air conditioning in Blackheath
Many London homes are flats or tall terraces, where heat rises to the top floor and the bedrooms bear the brunt of a hot spell. Where a room in Blackheath has deep cornicing or a picture rail, a console keeps the walls above it clear.
If your home in Blackheath is bay-fronted or period, a console often suits it better than a high wall unit. Blackheath is about 6 miles from central London and falls within our London coverage. Homes in SE3 are all within our coverage.
Prices in Blackheath
In London, our guide range for floor console air conditioning is £1,795–£3,895 per room, including VAT. Prices here sit above the national middle, reflecting London labour rates and parking and access costs. The biggest variables are the pipe route, access for the outdoor unit and the state of the consumer unit, all of which the survey settles. On our London figures, the Popular option (quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room) is about £2,295–£3,095.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
Since 29 May 2025, England's permitted development rules allow larger outdoor units (up to 1.5 m³) and no longer require a 1 m gap to the boundary, provided the MCS 020(a) noise check is met. Listed buildings and pitched-roof installs still need permission.
The survey
At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote. Surveys in Blackheath cover heat gain, pipe routes, electrics, access and noise to the nearest neighbour, so surprises on the day are rare.
