Floor console air conditioning across Gwent
If your home in Newport is bay-fronted or period, a console often suits it better than a high wall unit. Where a room in Newport has deep cornicing or a picture rail, a console keeps the walls above it clear. Humid summer spells in South Wales make dehumidifying and cooling equally welcome.
Prices in Gwent
Floor console air conditioning in Gwent typically comes in at £1,245–£2,695 per room including VAT, based on South and Mid Wales rates. It is a touch below the UK middle, as trade rates in South and Mid Wales tend to be. Longer or hidden pipe runs, high-level brackets and electrical upgrades are the usual reasons a quote lands at the top of the range. On our South and Mid Wales figures, the Popular option (quieter console with Wi-Fi control for a living room) is about £1,595–£2,145.

If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
Wales removed its old 3 m boundary rule on 1 June 2026, so most houses in Gwent can now have an outdoor unit under permitted development if it meets the MCS 020a noise condition. Listed buildings still need consent, and conservation areas have extra restrictions.
The survey
Surveys in Gwent cover heat gain, pipe routes, electrics, access and noise to the nearest neighbour, so surprises on the day are rare. We book surveys in Gwent at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards.
