Air conditioning for flats and apartments in Devizes
Balcony-mounted outdoor units are often the neatest solution for flats in Devizes. Damp South West winters make the dehumidifying side of a heat pump almost as useful as its cooling.
In Devizes apartment blocks, the freeholder's consent is usually the first thing to sort out. Devizes lies roughly 17 miles from Swindon, and we cover it as part of Wiltshire. Postcode districts we cover here include SN10.
Prices in Devizes
Air conditioning for flats and apartments in Devizes typically comes in at £1,350–£5,950 per flat, one room to the whole flat including VAT, based on South West England rates. That is broadly in line with national guide prices. What moves a quote in Devizes up or down is mostly pipe length, how high the outdoor unit goes, and whether a new electrical circuit is needed. Typical Two rooms work (twin multi-split for living room and main bedroom) lands around £2,650–£3,950 in this area.
Single room
One wall unit with a balcony outdoor unit.
Two rooms
Twin multi-split for living room and main bedroom.
Whole flat
Three or four rooms on one outdoor unit, concealed routes.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Consent and planning for flats
Flats need more care: get your freeholder's written consent first, and expect the planning rules for a block of flats in Devizes to be stricter than for a house. In England, permitted development allows one outdoor unit of up to 0.6 m³ on a block of flats; anything more needs planning permission.
The survey
We book surveys in Devizes at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards. A survey in Devizes usually takes one to two hours. We measure the rooms, check the walls and the consumer unit, agree the outdoor unit position with you and photograph the pipe routes.
