Storage and electric heater replacement in Cannock
Inland West Midlands towns can see sharp summer peaks, and the same system doubles as an efficient heater in winter. Flats and bungalows in Cannock that have never had gas are the usual candidates for replacing storage heaters.
For Cannock landlords, swapping storage heaters for a heat pump is one of the more effective EPC improvements. Cannock sits around 23 miles from Stoke-on-Trent, inside our Staffordshire area. Homes in WS11 are all within our coverage.
Prices in Cannock
In the West Midlands, our guide range for storage and electric heater replacement is £3,395–£10,245 for 3–5 rooms, including VAT. That is close to the UK middle for this kind of work. Longer or hidden pipe runs, high-level brackets and electrical upgrades are the usual reasons a quote lands at the top of the range. Typical Bungalow or house work (four rooms on one outdoor unit) lands around £4,845–£7,795 in this area.
Small flat
Two or three rooms replacing storage heaters.
Bungalow or house
Four rooms on one outdoor unit.
Larger home
Five or more rooms or two outdoor units.
Prices are shown before any Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant. The £2,500 air-to-air grant applies only to eligible homes in England and Wales, using an MCS-certified heat pump installed by an MCS-certified installer, who applies for the grant and deducts it from the price. We confirm eligibility, and which installer applies, before you commit.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
Since 29 May 2025, England's permitted development rules allow larger outdoor units (up to 1.5 m³) and no longer require a 1 m gap to the boundary, provided the MCS 020(a) noise check is met. Listed buildings and pitched-roof installs still need permission.
If your home in Cannock is replacing fossil fuel or electric heating, and no gas, oil or LPG boiler stays in use, an MCS-certified air-to-air heat pump may qualify for the £2,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant, which the MCS-certified installer claims and deducts from the price.
