Planning and permissions
Since 1 June 2026, Welsh permitted development rules for outdoor units closely match England's: up to 1.5 m³, two units on a detached home, one on other homes, and MCS 020a noise compliance. Listed buildings need consent, and conservation areas have extra restrictions on units facing a road.
The survey
On a survey in Tonypandy the engineer looks at room size, glazing, the route for pipes and drains, the electrics and where the outdoor unit can sit quietly, then the written quote follows. A survey in Tonypandy usually takes one to two hours. We measure the rooms, check the walls and the consumer unit, agree the outdoor unit position with you and photograph the pipe routes.
