Design-led and low-profile air conditioning in Brixton
In Brixton, a flat-fronted unit is a neat way to add cooling to a living room without a bulky white box. London's dense streets hold heat overnight, so top-floor flats and loft rooms often stay warm long after sunset.
Design-led units suit Brixton homes with feature walls or open-plan rooms where the unit is always in view. Brixton is about 2 miles from central London and falls within our London coverage. We cover SW2 and the streets around them.
Prices in Brixton
Our London guide price for design-led air conditioning is £2,445–£4,795 per room, VAT included. That is above the UK middle, mainly because labour and access cost more in London. What moves a quote in Brixton up or down is mostly pipe length, how high the outdoor unit goes, and whether a new electrical circuit is needed. On our London figures, the Flat-fronted option (flat panel unit in white, black or silver for a living room) is about £2,945–£3,895.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
In England, most houses can have an outdoor unit under permitted development if it is no larger than 1.5 m³, meets the MCS 020(a) noise limit of 37 dB(A) at the nearest neighbour's window, and there are no more than two on a detached house or one on other houses. Listed buildings need consent.
The survey
The free survey is where the real price is set: room measurements, pipe and drain routes, electrical checks and the outdoor unit position, all written into your quote. We book surveys in Brixton at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards.
