Design-led and low-profile air conditioning in Letchworth Garden City
In Letchworth Garden City, a flat-fronted unit is a neat way to add cooling to a living room without a bulky white box. The East of England is one of the sunniest and driest parts of the UK, which makes glazed rooms and lofts hard to keep cool.
Design-led units suit Letchworth Garden City homes with feature walls or open-plan rooms where the unit is always in view. Letchworth Garden City sits around 24 miles from Watford, inside our Hertfordshire area. Coverage includes SG6 and SG15.
Prices in Letchworth Garden City
Guide prices around Letchworth Garden City run from £2,045 to £4,095 per room including VAT. That is above the UK middle, mainly because labour and access cost more in the East of England. Longer or hidden pipe runs, high-level brackets and electrical upgrades are the usual reasons a quote lands at the top of the range. Typical Flat-fronted work (flat panel unit in white, black or silver for a living room) lands around £2,495–£3,295 in this area.

Planning and permissions
In England, most houses can have an outdoor unit under permitted development if it is no larger than 1.5 m³, meets the MCS 020(a) noise limit of 37 dB(A) at the nearest neighbour's window, and there are no more than two on a detached house or one on other houses. Listed buildings need consent.
The survey
At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote. On a survey in Letchworth Garden City the engineer looks at room size, glazing, the route for pipes and drains, the electrics and where the outdoor unit can sit quietly, then the written quote follows.
