Design-led and low-profile air conditioning in Cardigan
South Wales summers can be warm and humid, and winters damp, so a reversible system earns its keep all year. Design-led units suit Cardigan homes with feature walls or open-plan rooms where the unit is always in view.
For Cardigan houses with decorated or panelled walls, a slim unit with concealed pipework keeps the room looking finished. Cardigan is about 22 miles from Carmarthen and falls within our Dyfed coverage. That includes the SA43 postcode district.
Prices in Cardigan
For Cardigan, expect roughly £1,695 to £3,345 per room, VAT included, adjusted for typical South and Mid Wales rates. Labour rates in South and Mid Wales keep this slightly under the national middle. What moves a quote in Cardigan up or down is mostly pipe length, how high the outdoor unit goes, and whether a new electrical circuit is needed. Typical Flat-fronted work (flat panel unit in white, black or silver for a living room) lands around £2,045–£2,695 in this area.

If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
Wales removed its old 3 m boundary rule on 1 June 2026, so most houses in Cardigan can now have an outdoor unit under permitted development if it meets the MCS 020a noise condition. Listed buildings still need consent, and conservation areas have extra restrictions.
The survey
Surveys in Cardigan cover heat gain, pipe routes, electrics, access and noise to the nearest neighbour, so surprises on the day are rare. On a survey in Cardigan the engineer looks at room size, glazing, the route for pipes and drains, the electrics and where the outdoor unit can sit quietly, then the written quote follows.
