Bedroom and loft air conditioning across Lancashire
Loft conversions and top-floor bedrooms in Preston gain heat through the roof all day and give it back at night. For bedrooms in Preston, we place the outdoor unit at the back of the house, away from neighbours' windows. In the North West, heating efficiency is often the main benefit, with summer cooling a welcome bonus.
Prices in Lancashire
Bedroom and loft air conditioning in Lancashire typically comes in at £1,145–£2,795 per room including VAT, based on North West England rates. That sits a little below the UK middle, reflecting typical North West England labour rates. Longer or hidden pipe runs, high-level brackets and electrical upgrades are the usual reasons a quote lands at the top of the range. Typical Popular work (low-noise unit with Wi-Fi for a loft room or main bedroom) lands around £1,445–£2,095 in this area.
Essential
2–2.5 kW unit for a small bedroom with a short pipe run.
Popular
Low-noise unit with Wi-Fi for a loft room or main bedroom.
Premium
Very quiet model, concealed pipework or a flat-roof stand.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
For most houses in Lancashire, the outdoor unit is permitted development if it passes the MCS 020(a) noise check (37 dB(A) or less at the nearest neighbouring window) and stays within the size and number limits. We run that check on survey.
The survey
Surveys in Lancashire cover heat gain, pipe routes, electrics, access and noise to the nearest neighbour, so surprises on the day are rare. The free survey is where the real price is set: room measurements, pipe and drain routes, electrical checks and the outdoor unit position, all written into your quote.
