Air-to-air heat pumps in Denbigh
Exposed coastal sites in North Wales call for outdoor units placed out of the wind and salt spray where possible. Homes in Denbigh on electric, oil or LPG heating are the ones most likely to benefit from an air-to-air heat pump.
Ask at your Denbigh survey whether the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant could apply to your home. Our Clwyd coverage takes in Denbigh, about 20 miles from Wrexham. Homes in LL16 are all within our coverage.
Prices in Denbigh
In North Wales, our guide range for air-to-air heat pumps is £2,745–£10,745 for 2–5 rooms, including VAT. Labour rates in North Wales keep this slightly under the national middle. What moves a quote in Denbigh up or down is mostly pipe length, how high the outdoor unit goes, and whether a new electrical circuit is needed. Typical Small home work (three or four rooms heated and cooled) lands around £4,195–£6,995 in this area.
Two rooms
Living room and main bedroom on one outdoor unit.
Small home

Prices are shown before any Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant. The £2,500 air-to-air grant applies only to eligible homes in England and Wales, using an MCS-certified heat pump installed by an MCS-certified installer, who applies for the grant and deducts it from the price. We confirm eligibility, and which installer applies, before you commit.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
Wales removed its old 3 m boundary rule on 1 June 2026, so most houses in Denbigh can now have an outdoor unit under permitted development if it meets the MCS 020a noise condition. Listed buildings still need consent, and conservation areas have extra restrictions.
If your home in Denbigh is replacing fossil fuel or electric heating, and no gas, oil or LPG boiler stays in use, an MCS-certified air-to-air heat pump may qualify for the £2,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant, which the MCS-certified installer claims and deducts from the price.
The survey
Surveys in Denbigh cover heat gain, pipe routes, electrics, access and noise to the nearest neighbour, so surprises on the day are rare. At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote.
