Wall-mounted air conditioning in Leyland
Damp North West weather makes the dehumidifying mode of a modern split system genuinely useful for much of the year. Where a home in Leyland faces the street, the outdoor unit usually goes at the rear, out of sight.
A single wall-mounted unit is often all a bedroom or sunny living room in Leyland needs. Leyland is about 5 miles from Preston and falls within our Lancashire coverage. Postcode districts we cover here include PR5, PR25 and PR26.
Prices in Leyland
For Leyland, expect roughly £1,095 to £2,795 per room, VAT included, adjusted for typical North West England rates. It is a touch below the UK middle, as trade rates in North West England tend to be. The biggest variables are the pipe route, access for the outdoor unit and the state of the consumer unit, all of which the survey settles. For reference, the Popular option in Leyland (quieter mid-range unit with Wi-Fi control and better seasonal efficiency for a living room) usually comes to about £1,445–£2,045.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
In England, most houses can have an outdoor unit under permitted development if it is no larger than 1.5 m³, meets the MCS 020(a) noise limit of 37 dB(A) at the nearest neighbour's window, and there are no more than two on a detached house or one on other houses. Listed buildings need consent.
The survey
The free survey is where the real price is set: room measurements, pipe and drain routes, electrical checks and the outdoor unit position, all written into your quote. At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote.
