In the West Midlands, sizing for winter heating first and then checking summer cooling usually gives the best all-year system.
Prices in Worcestershire
Our West Midlands guide price for air conditioning replacement and removal is £190–£495 to remove and recover one system, VAT included. It sits near the middle of UK prices. Concealed pipework, access equipment for high walls and any electrical work are what push prices towards the upper figure. For reference, the Like-for-like option in Worcestershire (replace one system using sound existing routes) usually comes to about £1,145–£2,195.

Planning and permissions
For most houses in Worcestershire, the outdoor unit is permitted development if it passes the MCS 020(a) noise check (37 dB(A) or less at the nearest neighbouring window) and stays within the size and number limits. We run that check on survey.
The survey
On a survey in Worcestershire the engineer looks at room size, glazing, the route for pipes and drains, the electrics and where the outdoor unit can sit quietly, then the written quote follows. The free survey is where the real price is set: room measurements, pipe and drain routes, electrical checks and the outdoor unit position, all written into your quote.
