Air conditioning replacement and removal across Powys
During building work in Newtown, units can be recovered and removed so the job can go ahead safely. Units over fifteen years old in Newtown homes are worth replacing before they fail completely. In South and Mid Wales, efficient heating is often as important as cooling.
Prices in Powys
Our South and Mid Wales guide price for air conditioning replacement and removal is £180–£445 to remove and recover one system, VAT included. Planning and permissions
Since 1 June 2026, Welsh permitted development rules for outdoor units closely match England's: up to 1.5 m³, two units on a detached home, one on other homes, and MCS 020a noise compliance. Listed buildings need consent, and conservation areas have extra restrictions on units facing a road.
The survey
On a survey in Powys the engineer looks at room size, glazing, the route for pipes and drains, the electrics and where the outdoor unit can sit quietly, then the written quote follows. The free survey is where the real price is set: room measurements, pipe and drain routes, electrical checks and the outdoor unit position, all written into your quote.
