New build and renovation air conditioning in Wells
Coastal breezes help, but inland South West towns and glazed rooms still see uncomfortable peaks. First-fix pipework in Wells extensions goes in while the joists and studs are open.
Renovations in Wells are the easiest jobs to make invisible, because the pipework goes in before the plaster. Wells lies roughly 24 miles from Taunton, and we cover it as part of Somerset. Postcode districts we cover here include BA5.
Prices in Wells
For Wells, expect roughly £395 to £895 per indoor position (first fix), VAT included, adjusted for typical South West England rates. That is close to the UK middle for this kind of work. The biggest variables are the pipe route, access for the outdoor unit and the state of the consumer unit, all of which the survey settles. For reference, the First and second fix option in Wells (complete install priced per room including units) usually comes to about £1,450–£2,950.

Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Working with your builder
First-fix work is about coordination, while the outdoor unit follows the normal planning rules for the property.
The survey
On a survey in Wells the engineer looks at room size, glazing, the route for pipes and drains, the electrics and where the outdoor unit can sit quietly, then the written quote follows. We book surveys in Wells at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards.
