New build and renovation air conditioning in Newtown
Renovations in Newtown are the easiest jobs to make invisible, because the pipework goes in before the plaster. Humid summer spells in South Wales make dehumidifying and cooling equally welcome.
First-fix pipework in Newtown extensions goes in while the joists and studs are open. We cover Newtown and the rest of Powys, including Brecon and Llandrindod Wells. Homes in SY16 are all within our coverage.
Prices in Newtown
Guide prices around Newtown run from £365 to £795 per indoor position (first fix) including VAT. Labour rates in South and Mid Wales keep this slightly under the national middle. Longer or hidden pipe runs, high-level brackets and electrical upgrades are the usual reasons a quote lands at the top of the range. For reference, the First and second fix option in Newtown (complete install priced per room including units) usually comes to about £1,345–£2,695.
First fix only
Pipework and drains to each position for a later install.
First and second fix
Complete install priced per room including units.
Ducted design and build
Concealed ducted system designed into the build.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Working with your builder
First-fix work is about coordination, while the outdoor unit follows the normal planning rules for the property.
The survey
We book surveys in Newtown at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards. At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote.
