Multi-split air conditioning in Colwyn Bay
Mild North Wales summers mean heat pump heating is usually the headline benefit. Twin and triple systems suit Colwyn Bay homes where bedrooms sit above the kitchen and one rear wall can take the outdoor unit.
In a house in Colwyn Bay with a usable loft, multi-split pipes can often run through it so the front stays clear. Colwyn Bay lies roughly 35 miles from Wrexham, and we cover it as part of Clwyd. Postcode districts we cover here include LL29.
Prices in Colwyn Bay
Budget around £2,295–£7,295 for 2–4 rooms including VAT for multi-split air conditioning in and around Colwyn Bay. It is a touch below the UK middle, as trade rates in North Wales tend to be. Concealed pipework, access equipment for high walls and any electrical work are what push prices towards the upper figure. Typical Triple work (three rooms with mixed indoor styles and Wi-Fi control throughout) lands around £3,145–£5,095 in this area.
Twin
Two rooms on one outdoor unit, wall-mounted indoor units, standard routes.
Triple
Three rooms with mixed indoor styles and Wi-Fi control throughout.
Quad
Four or five rooms, longer concealed runs or a ducted unit in a loft void.
Guide prices show VAT at 20%. HMRC treats most fixed air conditioners and air-to-air heat pumps installed in homes as energy-saving materials, zero-rated until 31 March 2027 when we supply and fit them. If your installation qualifies, your quote shows 0% VAT and a lower price. Servicing, repairs, cleaning and controls are charged at 20%.
Planning and permissions
In Wales, outdoor units of up to 1.5 m³ that meet MCS 020a noise limits are usually permitted development on houses; listed buildings need consent, and in conservation areas a unit cannot go on a wall or roof facing a road.
The survey
The free survey is where the real price is set: room measurements, pipe and drain routes, electrical checks and the outdoor unit position, all written into your quote. A survey in Colwyn Bay usually takes one to two hours. We measure the rooms, check the walls and the consumer unit, agree the outdoor unit position with you and photograph the pipe routes.
