Heat load surveys and system design across Nottinghamshire
No two rooms in Nottingham gain or lose heat in quite the same way, which is exactly why rooms are measured before sizing. For self-builds and extensions in Nottingham, a standalone design pack can go straight to your builder. East Midlands summers bring dry, sunny spells, so glazing and orientation matter most when sizing a unit.
Prices in Nottinghamshire
Guide prices around Nottinghamshire run from £380 to £1,195 for a standalone design pack including VAT. It is a touch below the UK middle, as trade rates in the East Midlands tend to be. Larger homes, more zones and full drawing sets for a builder are what move a design pack towards the upper figure. For reference, the Design pack option in Nottinghamshire (drawings and schedules for one home) usually comes to about £380–£745.

Planning and permissions
Since 29 May 2025, England's permitted development rules allow larger outdoor units (up to 1.5 m³) and no longer require a 1 m gap to the boundary, provided the MCS 020(a) noise check is met. Listed buildings and pitched-roof installs still need permission.
The survey
A survey in Nottinghamshire usually takes one to two hours. We measure the rooms, check the walls and the consumer unit, agree the outdoor unit position with you and photograph the pipe routes. On a survey in Nottinghamshire the engineer looks at room size, glazing, the route for pipes and drains, the electrics and where the outdoor unit can sit quietly, then the written quote follows.
