Heat load surveys and system design in Totton
The South East sees some of the UK's warmest summer days, and south-facing rooms and conservatories feel it first. Every Totton quote starts with a room-by-room survey rather than a guess from floor area.
No two rooms in Totton gain or lose heat in quite the same way, which is exactly why rooms are measured before sizing. Totton lies roughly 4 miles from Southampton, and we cover it as part of Hampshire. Postcode districts we cover here include SO40.
Prices in Totton
In South East England, our guide range for heat load surveys and system design is £495–£1,495 for a standalone design pack, including VAT. That is above the UK middle, mainly because labour and access cost more in South East England. A standalone design pack is priced on the size of the home, the number of rooms and how much drawing work your builder or architect needs. On our South East England figures, the Design pack option (drawings and schedules for one home) is about £495–£945.

Planning and permissions
In England, most houses can have an outdoor unit under permitted development if it is no larger than 1.5 m³, meets the MCS 020(a) noise limit of 37 dB(A) at the nearest neighbour's window, and there are no more than two on a detached house or one on other houses. Listed buildings need consent.
The survey
A survey in Totton usually takes one to two hours. We measure the rooms, check the walls and the consumer unit, agree the outdoor unit position with you and photograph the pipe routes. We book surveys in Totton at a time that suits you, including early evenings by arrangement, and send the written quote afterwards.
