Heat load surveys and system design in Walkden
Milder summers in the North West mean designing for winter comfort as much as for a heatwave. No two rooms in Walkden gain or lose heat in quite the same way, which is exactly why rooms are measured before sizing.
Every Walkden quote starts with a room-by-room survey rather than a guess from floor area. Walkden sits around 7 miles from Manchester, inside our Greater Manchester area. That includes the M28 postcode district.
Prices in Walkden
Heat load surveys and system design in Walkden typically come in at £375–£1,195 for a standalone design pack including VAT, based on North West England rates. Labour rates in North West England keep this slightly under the national middle. A standalone design pack is priced on the size of the home, the number of rooms and how much drawing work your builder or architect needs. As an example, the Design pack option (drawings and schedules for one home) would typically be £375–£745 here.

Planning and permissions
In England, most houses can have an outdoor unit under permitted development if it is no larger than 1.5 m³, meets the MCS 020(a) noise limit of 37 dB(A) at the nearest neighbour's window, and there are no more than two on a detached house or one on other houses. Listed buildings need consent.
The survey
A survey in Walkden usually takes one to two hours. We measure the rooms, check the walls and the consumer unit, agree the outdoor unit position with you and photograph the pipe routes. At the survey we look at how each room is used, where the sun hits it and how the pipes can reach the outside wall, then put it all in a written quote.
